Midwest State Took Action After Supreme Court Decision

In the wake of the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Democrats all around the United States are striving to safeguard the right to abortion. On the other hand, legislators in numerous red states are working quickly to implement pro-life policies. However, one state has surpassed all of them by implementing a ban on abortion that is almost absolute.

The near-total abortion restriction that was recently signed into law by Indiana’s governor is causing Democrats to have a nervous breakdown. A few very limited exceptions are made to the general rule that abortion is illegal under the law. Abortions are legal in the United States only for women who have been victims of rape or incest. And this is something that can only be done in cases where the mother’s health would be jeopardized by giving birth, in addition to the fetus displaying symptoms of a fatal condition.

Because these restrictions are so stringent, the state will likely only see a very small number of abortions. Democrats deplore this kind of constraint on access to abortion, arguing that they violate the rights of women. What the left refuses to admit is that there are millions of women who have moral objections to the practice of abortion. And that the decision of the Supreme Court gave the states the authority to determine their own abortion laws.

This means that voters now have the opportunity to decide the fate of this practice on the level of the state. Neither an all-encompassing court nor the central government of the United States.
That is precisely what Democrats despise the most: giving more power to the general populace. The Democratic Party appears to be fixated on imposing its norms and requirements on us. They have a plan, and if we don’t go along with it, they’ll come up with something else to do to make it happen.

In a strange twist of irony, that is the antithesis of democracy. In this particular instance, the citizens of Indiana elected officials who campaigned on platforms promising to enact legislation of this nature. If Democrats feel this strongly about the issue, all they need to do is encourage people in Indiana to support pro-abortion officials. We will have to wait and see how that turns out for them.
