Democrats Suffer Major Loss in Swing State Florida

For many years, Florida was widely regarded as an important swing state. Both the red and blue parties fought each other to gain control of the local government and the federal seats. Neither party could win. However, a lot has changed since the year 2016. In the presidential election of 2020, Trump easily won the state. In addition, the current Republican governor is making tremendous headway in combating the far-left extremists.

And at this point, the Democratic Party has completely given up hope of winning in this solidly red state. The Democratic Party has decided not to run candidates in Florida’s upcoming elections for the House and Senate. However, by doing so, they are also giving up the opportunity to advance their position at the state level.

They were unable to find candidates who would run against Republicans for any of the available seats in the state legislature. Concerns that they would have disastrous effects prevented Democrats from even making an effort. And it has become widely known that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the national fundraising arm for Democrats, is refusing to pour money into Florida.

Because Democrats are aware that the campaigns they run will not be successful, they do not even want to bother asking donors for financial support. Only a few short years ago, nobody in their right mind would have believed something like this. However, because the Republican Party has been so successful in Florida, voters have no reason to support the Democratic Party.

Hispanic Americans in Miami and Southern Florida, many of whom fled Cuba, are drifting further and further away from the Democratic Party as the party moves further to the left. The panhandle of Florida is an extremely conservative region that almost always votes for the Republican party. Additionally, longtime Democratic voters in Florida who had previously resided in New York as retirees are no longer among us.

Add to that the fact that Governor DeSantis has become a rock star by amassing one victory after another to his list of accomplishments. In Florida, the number of registered Republicans has officially surpassed the number of Democrats for the first time. Yes, I can understand why Democrats are throwing in the towel.
